Got an easy one for anyone who knows intel stuff,

Does the P4, in particular a LGA 775 3.0ghz 630 paired with the Intel 945G Express chipset have any limitations on the memory. I want to run 4 x 256 and not lose dual channel, or any performace settings (like falling back to 2T on the A64). No overclocking here, its a dell. I just want to know if 4 x 256 is the same at 2 x 512 on the Intel systems.I think it is because the mem controller isn't actually on the chip, but i dont know enough about intel stuff and we just got a dell 5100C and we need to get it to a gig as cheaply as possible, so hoping to nab 2 x 256 to get us to a gig.
 
It wont drop down to 2T on the Intel system, as the memory controller is designed differently than the A64's. The A64's sacrifices some things in favor of others (such as 90% bandwidth efficiency, something Intels never hit) whereas the Intel is designed to handle high clockspeeds and doesnt seem to care much about latency as it's already in a bad position latency-wise.
