I've lost the functionality of the secondary IDE channel on my D845PEBT2 motherboard recently. The devices still show up in the bios, as well as in device manager and "my computer". The contents of the drives, however, do not appear. The two drives I have hooked up on the second IDE channel are a Pioneer DVD-RW and a Pioneer DVD-ROM. I have tried a different IDE cable, as well as taking the DVDRW out of the equation and changing the DVD drive's jumpers to master. The computer is running Windows XP Pro. As far as I can tell I have troubleshooted the hardware side of this as much as possible. Could this be a software issue? Ideas? I thought it could be a dead IDE channel, but I havn't seen just one channel die on a board before. RMA'ing the mobo would be super inconvienient due to Intel requiring the defective board to be sent to them first (all the way in the USA) so it would get caught at the border both ways and I'd be without a computer for over a month.
