first of all.. puts on flame retardant suit and constructs a shelter..
am a noobie so please forgive me
I am planning to build a new pc in august. I have begun looking around for the best/most appropriate parts that i hsould get. This would be my first build. I have some experience in taking apart and cleaning up my current pc so the build should not be a problem. My new pc would be for gaming, ripping, burning and general use.internet, mail constant dl ..
Now I have around 200usd to spend on a processor maybe up to 250usd. My current location is in the UK so please do not give me links to newegg.. they don;t deliver overseas.
I checked around the net and the best performance/price ratio at the moment is the 805. But i have a problem with that. It is cheaper than the rest and much lower than my budget but it is compared with the others once it has been oc.
So i was wondering if there is a site that does a comprehensive review of cpu's that have been oc'ed so i get the most bang out of my bucks.
I mean like a comparison between an oc'ed 805 and 820 and so on. cos its not fair to compare a stock 820 with an 805. What I am really asking for is that i would like to know the oc % of most of the main stream processors within my budget.
like the 805 can go up 46%, the x2 3800 cna only goes up 26%.. that way i can get the best available.
does anyone know of such a site of is willing to put a list together?
also would it be worth waiting for conroe to be out in july or august before it comes across the pond.Is the extra performance worht the price premium that I would have to pay?
ducks behind shelter for the flames and rocks.
peeks out... please help a noobie make a wise investment
