So i see Ark says 6700k supports only 32GB and 5930k supports 64GB. Does that actually mean it can only use that much RAM or is that bad info Intel put in thinking RAM sticks are only 8GB?

There are regular RAM sticks that are unbuffered and 16GB and motherboards that support them.

So are those CPUs hard limited just because or is that old info based off the notion that RAM is only in 8GB sticks?

I would really like to put 16GB sticks in my up coming build.

No, it means it supports 32gb RAM sticks, but a total of 64gb and the 5930k supports 64gb modules with a total of 128gb

looks like these will work for you then http://www.corsair.com/en/memory/popular-memory/vengeance-lpx-ddr4-for-6th-generation-intel-core?memorysize=32GB%20Kit%20%282%20x%2016GB%29|

intel says this though

Max memory size refers to the maximum memory capacity (in GB) supported by the processor

so according to that it means only 32GB for 6700k and 64GB for 5930K in total capacity but I feel like that is kinda silly and off.

Maybe it means per channel, I agree the ARK appears like it is saying you cant run more than 32gb, but all the boards say they max at 64gb and I think there was another thread about this same topic and the result was 64gb total was supported

for the 6700k?

Yes the Z170 Asus Hero board I plan to get says this
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

My understanding is that it is 64gb max for the board until someone proves otherwise

Here is one of the reviews I have seen that stated 64gb as well

Ok here is an Intel PDF showing 64gb

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/6th-gen-core-family-desktop-brief.pdf

"The flagship desktop Intel® Core™ i7-6700K desktop processor has a quad-core base frequency of 4GHz, 8MB of cache memory and support for up to 64GB in DDR4 RAM memory"
