I just put together my first dual core intel computer
spec's are Pentium D 820 with 800 FSB
MOBO is ASUS 865 P5PE-VM with 2 1gig sticks of DDR400
7800 GS AGP
480 Antec PSU
PLextor 708 DVD burner
WD 250 SATA

I get a messege Intel CPU ucode loading error in bios. Temps and voltages appear normal
the cpu is shown as a pentium D and the bios is the last version. (1201)

I used good parts from other machine so I know the mem, psu ,and videocard are good.
Anyone out there know whats going on here.

I was extremely careful installing the CPU and Heatsink.
I also researched the mobo before I bought it to be sure that the the Cpu was supported.

BIOS flash I bet is your issue here son, find the newest BIOS for your board, and flash it.

thanks for info
after some googling I found a beta bios 1202 at asus ftp it seems to have fixed the problem
