the i5 7600 can run at up to 4.1ghz in turbo boost mode. even at this speed, this cpu doesn't generate a lot of heat. just wanna get your opinion if i should be fine with stock cooler or do i need something better.

Stock is fine and you can always change it to something more silent later should you choose so.

yep, that's what i thought too but i didn't expect the stock cooler to be loud. should i be concerned about that?

I only think there is aluminium left.

For the OP, make sure you use a fan profile in BIOS.

hmm....not sure what a fan profile is and i don't think i've ever seen one in the bios

cool...i've never had a mobo that has that option. i'm getting a msi h110m pro-vd. will it have that option too?

my new gaming pc i'm building is going to have core i5 7600 cpu, gigabyte geforce gtx 1060 GV-N1060G1GAMING-3GD video card, patriot viper 1x8gb ddr4 2133 ram, 3 sata3 7200rpm 1tb hdd's, on a msi h110m pro-vd mobo in a micro atx case with 500w psu.
i got 2 case fans, one in the front and one in the back. i can put 2 more 120mm fans on the side of the case but i'd rather not. i'm planning to add a usb port drive bay device later. i'm not overclocking my system. i've never had a gaming machine this powerful and just wanna make sure it won't overheat. you guys think i can get away with just 2 case fans and stock cpu cooler?

Easily. Cant see you need more than 1 case fan either. You wont even produce 200W of heat peak.

awesome!! (y)

that's why intel is the cpu market leader!

so if you can only have one case fan, where would you put it to get the most cooling benefits, in the front or the back, probably not the side tho right?

If one, then definitely exhaust in the back.

any particular reason why?

It is the closest to draw hot air out from the biggest heat generator in the computer.

The stock cooler is fine, if it wasn't, they would not include it. That however as already mentioned does not mean it will be quiet, that is also fine/normal though, assuming the noise does not bother you. If it does, there are lots of choices on the market to solve that, it will not hurt the CPU however.

This, ideally you want your cpu fan to push hot air towards the fan on the back of the case.

one thing i want to add is i used to have an asus cpu cooler with heat pipes and aluminum fins. the fan is nested in an opening between the aluminum fins. this design worked really well for me because the fan is shielded from wires that might come in contact with the fan blades. this is what i look for now when i buy an after market cooler.
