Intel Core Duo Processors?

Okay guys, Im buying a laptop and have been looking at two. One has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 processor. The other has a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T2250 processor. Which one is better?

go for the core 2 duo

the core duo performs worse, it is missing features (it probably is a gimped 2300, as denoted by the 2250 number, possibly a 2300 with decreased FSB or missing virtualisation) and the killer blow, the core duo is 32 bit only, while the core 2 duo is 64 bit, this would mean that with the core duo you are limited to 32 bit vista in the future, which you probably dont want

First I would like to say I have limited experience with either of these processors, however a quick internet trawl has come up with the following:

Core Duo T2250 1733 MHz 2048 KiB 533 MT/s 13x 0.762/1.3 V 13.1-31 W Socket M May 2006 LF80539GE0302M
Core 2 Duo T5200 1600 MHz 2048 KiB 533 MT/s 12x 1.0375–1.3 V 34 W Socket M

Based on these figures i'd go with the T2250, its faster and with a higher multiplier in case you were going to overclock.

well the price difference is $50 I think the 64bit makes a big difference since this is a notebook that is intended to last for awhile I want to upgrade with out messing with the hardware to much.

The core 2 duo will be just as fast despite the clock lag.

Also, unless there is now a magical pinmod for 533-667, no one's overclocking anything.
(Don't point out the pinmod for 400-533, it's completely unrelated)
