Intel Core 2 Desktop Pricing and Specifications - While Intel has already leaked and released much of the information about their Core 2 / Conroe core, we do have a some Intel documents to show to you today that have yet to hit the streets, along with Intel's new destkop pricing structure as well.

These pages are for geeks only as they outline the power specifications for Intel's Core 2 Duo and Extreme Processors. Looks like I might be getting that 2.16GHz part after all. $350 is just too much for a processor for a college student (that is, as long as I want to stay out of debt).

Extra $100 for 2 MB's more of L2 cache as well as a few hundred mhz... I guess you can just overclock it.

One the reviews I read this morning overclocked the X6800 to 3.3gigs, E6700 to 3.95 gigs and
the E6600 to 4.0 gigs. So I am very interested to see what processors have the most OCing
room. That is one of the reasons I have set up The Conore Overclock Database.

I was thinking I would get the E6700, but if the E6600 can get me more speed for less money
I will have to change my mind.I am so excited.

Also i read that amd will be going down on prices really bad. A E6600 is equal to a FX62 andthe price is as low as X2 4200 after the price drop , its still not good enough.

I want to see benchmarks of games at 4ghz.

The extreme forms have benches that show what it can do between 4 and 5ghz. It tops a 2x speed difference from a FX62. Its like haveing 2 FX-62's in one CPU is how good of a speed difference it is. Maxes out Sandra 2007 at 35000 and 40000 or so in performance. Thats 2 times faster then a FX-62. Amazing.

4ghz on air. Stable. 5ghz on water i beleave it was. But stable. The limit is mobos. The CPU's can go beyond 500FSB. Just mobos are too limited to allow more. Also its the cpus multiplier. The cpu doesn't have a limit. Conroe is a amazing chip. Who would have thought P3's would come back like this. Reborn as monsters... Just think what would have happened if they found out what a P3 arcs could have really done for then if they had keeped the ark. Conroe would have been made years ago. It should have been the real P4.
