Intel Chipset Drivers on Windows 7

I just installed Windows 7 on my Intel i7 computer.

I see that Microsoft installed its own drivers for the Intel chipset. I tried to install the Intel Chipset drivers but Windows 7 wouldn't let me install them as it stated that the current drivers were working fine.

Is there any way to force the drivers to be updated and do the Intel chipset drivers make better use of the maximum power of the i7 CPU vs. the Microsoft drivers?

Thanks

The Intel chipset "drivers" are actually just inf files that allow Windows to detect and install the chipset devices. There aren't any actual driver files included. Any possible difference between the Intel supplied files and MIcrosoft files would be miniscule. The Intel inf files will still point to the Microsoft supplied driver files.
