I recently installed sandra 2004 edition, i ran a performance check and it shows my cpu is at a temp of 127 c..

I am wondering if maybe the software could jsutbe wrong, but i did not want to risk it so i rigged a lil thing until i get money to get better fans or a better cooling system in there, i am using one of my room fans to blow into my compouter to keep it cool and even then the software repots my temp being 127 even after i had my computer off for a day...

any suggestions

i do realise that if it was really at 127 my comp would be fried but i want to know if there is other software so i can see if it is even over temp

What does the bios say the temps are? Your system wouldn't be able to even boot if it was that hot. Your CPU would instantly turn into a pile of molten slag.

That, of course, is assuming that Thermal Protection isn't working correctly.

Try MotherBoard Monitor. Your board might not have a thermal diode, so Sandra is generating a value, or Sandra isn't detecting the proper diode. You'll probably have to play around with MBM to get it to register the proper temps. :)

The BIOS is the first place you need to look, specifically, on the 'PC health' page. If your computer is a Dell or other prebuilt, it might now show the temps. :(

127F I assume. It may very well be correct. Remove your HSF and put it back on. May just been on a little awkward.

That is high but not frying high. Or your diode may not play well with Sandra.

Sandra was jsut reading improper, i grabbed the motherboard software and checked the bios, it's good
