Intel cancels 4.0GHz chip

There's an issue in the latest Scientific American about the trend away from Ghz increases and towards multiple cores. Decent read if not overly informative.
 
i actually got that SA a few days ago, its very very interesting, and i cant wait for the next generation in CPU technology..ya, after multiple cores, then what? would they really go to light? or something else
