How long does it take it to run 50 passes at 3.2ghz with a Q9450 and 8gb of ram?

I started it around 3 or 4 last night and its still going! Unfortunately I turned on error detection so I don't know how many tests are remaining :(. If someone could tell me I appreciate it :).

Meh... only 50 passes, oh boy... you not testing your CPU right, you better do a 100 passes on it!
 
Ten passes takes me less than a half hour with 3.2GHz on a Q9450. I've done that a number of times. So, maybe it should take no longer than 2.5 hours? Maybe your system is not stable and is hung up, even without errors (I've had that happen too).

Why are you going for 50 passes? Seems like an unnecessary stress on the system. Try a different program in addition to IBT. I have used OCCT 3.0 and it found errors in just over an hour that IBT does not. Prime95 found no errors in over 14 hours.
 
10 passes on my Q6600 at 3.6 takes about 10-15 minutes, maybe. I never tried for anything higher than 20 passes which took about 30-40 minutes. Can't see why you would even try for 50 passes. 8 hours prime, 2 hours OCCT and 10 passes IBT is good enough for most people.
 
well it takes almost 7 minutes per test so almost 7 hours total. i think i will do 10 tests and call it a day lol. the first one locked up totally so i'm redoing it. probably my fault ;)
 
He chose 1. max stress on 7GB! I think it slows down with the square of memory usage.

Kill it, and time 1 pass and 2 passes.

i let it run for 11 passes, all good. i'll do more when i go to work tonight :)

Haha. Always check to make sure the computer isn't just frozen :p

That said, I don't usually bother running more than 10 IBT runs before going to Prime blend tests. Those blend tests stress more of the system than IBT does, which is really only CPU testing.
