Well my intel board only supports a 533mhz FSB, could i get a new proc with at least 1mb L2 cache, or will i need to go up to 800mhz FSB to be able to get a proc with that much cache.

Ok thanks cause i thought that they put only 512k on the 533FSB chips then moved the 1mb to the 800mhz bracket

Be advised you can not use the 533MHz Prescott "A" series CPU's. The Prescott voltage requirements are FAR different than the Northwood's and those older boards were not designed for it.

There might be a BIOS update for the board to update micro code for Prescott support, and assuming that the board can be programmed to deliver a lower core voltage for a 90 nano chip, he would be good to go. Your best bet is to go to the mobo maker's website and see if there is a BIOS update for your board that adds Prescott support. Most mobo makers also have a giant table that shows what mobo/CPU combinations are compatible. I would look at this information before buying - most dealers have very strict policies on CPU returns I wouldn't even want to think about having to deal with.
