I was thinking what tobit posted about a week ago, saying that there are 2million + classic work units available and I have a few atom 330 systems sitting around doing nothing would they be able to complete these units before the dead line? I am not concerned about the ppd on these boxes just the science :D

Thanks in advance

Classic work units have really long deadlines, some upwards of 99 days. Make sure advanced methods is off in the config and go for it. I think there are a few people crunching on some Atom hardware. Go for it. Thanks!

will give it a shot when I finish installing ubuntu on the boxes.... thanks tobit

i've got a atom 330 as well...maybe i should give it a go....temps are the only concern

temps should not be an issue mine were both car pcs prior , they survived summer driving at 110+ in the summer.......... :D I am goin to give it a go

o nice, i've got one of those Atom 330 Nettops from Foxconn (great deal on the Egg a few months ago), sits idle most of the time until we watch a movie

I folded on a 330 for a while and it did alright. I used the smp flag believe it or not and it would finish about 1 WU a day or so. I got something like 200-400 ppd if I remember correctly.

What does the advmethods flag do for the unicore client? Do they have experimental units for it too? It seems like all the effort goes into gpu and smp units, but it could just be a perceptual thing because thats all we talk about on here.

I run the cpu client on my Dell latitude XT with a 1.2ghz c2d and it gets a WU off every day or so, your 330 shouldn't be too far behind that.

They are doing quite a bit of new work unit development on the unicore side. More so at the moment than SMP. Within the past two months, I think we've seen 20 or so new units.

Nice. I hope they roll out some changes to the bonus structure to make gpu and especially unicore attractive to run again. Miniadv anyone? :p
