So i just picked up my first set of intel 530s and was excited to see how they performed. I set them up as a mirror boot drive/datastore for a gea-inspired all in one napp-it box. After getting the OI vm setup, my write latency was just hanging out as 130ms!! So i figured it was the card, cables or box, as these drives were brand new INTELS. Swapped cables, cards and rigs and the problem followed the intel drives. I've been hearing good things about these drives, but i must have gotten a bad batch. I'm going to have to rip one out and do a full wipe + verify but needless to say i am not impressed.
Here is a shot of the datastore latency with the OI VM just idling and no other VMs on the server. Very strange. And no, the array was not rebuilding.
