Intel 530J and thermal paste question?

A friend of mine recently brought parts to build a new computer except a hard drive. The question we have when we assemble this computer is that will we need thermal paste. Like I said in the topic that it is a 530J 3.0Ghz processor(Retail Edition). I know the Prescotts run hotter than most processors(I have a 520 2.8GHz myself). Ive been searching around about this question, and found that the retail edition heatsink uses some plate or something that cares of the thermal paste issue. I also heard that since they use this heatsink, that putting thermal paste voids the warrenty. But I also read that thermal paste is very much needed, and that if you dont put any on you will overheat and fry the processor. So does anyone know the answer to this question. Preferbly a person who put in a 5xx series processor, and has first hand experience to this question.
 
Reviews say that, Arctic Silver 5 is about the best there is next to the TIM provided by Intel on the stock heatsink. Intel's TIM is a one shot deal, so if you ever take the heatsink off, you are SOL unless you replace it with something comperable. IMO, do not use "white paste" for any reason. Arctic Silver also makes a product called "Ceramique" I think this particular product is a white paste and should be good, but AS5 is tried and true. Make sure you follow the instructions on the AS website for applying the paste, not following their instructions can cause higher temperatures.

That didnt help me one bit, I asked if its needed, not whats the best thermal paste out. If we needed thermal paste, yes, I would of order Artic Silver 5. We need to know, if its needed, or does the retail heatsink takes cares of this issue.

Retail heatsink includes a thermal pad which will work fine for general use. If you take off the heatsink for any reason you will need to clean off the remains of the thermal pad and replace with arctic silver 5 as said above.
