Intel 520 Benchmark WTF!

So I thought I never benchmarked my SSD after I bought it. Have been using it for about two months now. Today I used AS SSD to benchmark my SSD and boy was I in for a shock. Check out the scores.

I mean what the hell is wrong?. Am I doing something wrong here or I have not downloaded the correct benchmark?. I should be getting over 500 for Sequential reads.... Please help. By the way the SSD is plugged into the SATA 3 6GB/s port.

Looks like you aren't running in AHCI.

Also, AS-SSD benchmark uses incompressible data so it will return lower results than advertised on Sandforce drives

check out this vid - I just had the same concern. Basically you need to change one registry value, then reboot and change the bios to AHCI. I did read that this may cause problems, but it works most of the time. A fresh install is always the best way to go.

I have that same SSD as you. You are definitely missing the ACHI driver. As a reference, this is my drive after about 6 months of use and 13GB free space.

Also, keep in mind that if you are testing your "C" drive, you have an active OS, data on the drive and possibly antivirus which will further cut your performance numbers in a benchmark. If you want to test your drive against published benchmarks in most reviews, you should do a secure erase and then test the blank drive (when booted from another drive) so you can test apples to apples.
