Hi, I got a new 3570k and an old ati 4890....as a temp rig to do some work on.

I was using lucid virtu MVP, but turns out it crashes the main software I need to run. So now I have to pick one or the other to run.

Which is a better graphics choice at 1080p monitor and light gaming, (CIV5, ME3 etc....)

Thanks.

integrated HD4000 graphics doesn't come anywhere close to the performance power of a HD4890 discrete video card.

the 4890 is still a card to be reckoned with my 4870 is slower and I can still max most games at 1080p def the 4890

pretty much... a HD4890 can still be compared with a GTX460/GTX465 by most modern standards, only without DX11 support

while HD4000 from a 3570k is several... several......several tiers below that

At the rate Intel is going with video technology, they won't be touching a 4890 in decades...
