intel 3.8 or 3.4 ee

hi guys need your opinions on which of these cpu i should get for my shuttle...
i can get these chips for the same price below 400...

Also.. what motherboard are you putting into it? Is is a 478 chipset? or 955?

Go for the EE. You can always add MHz, but you can't add cache.

which shuttle ? I assume you're talking about the 775 socket 3.4EE vs 570 ?

I would think the 3.4EE would be faster b/c of the shorter pipeline and easier to cool in a shuttle. But its a close call with Prescott at 3.8 vs. Gallatin at 3.4

Dual core and HT always win over a couple hundred extra hertz. Go with the 3.4ee.

exreme edition sure sounds a lot better than an ordinary p4. bragging rights win here.....

besides, ee's dont oc as good as the 5xx with traditional cache's

ummm the dual core EE is a 3.2Ghz... I thought he was talking about this 3.4EE
not the 840 EE (3.2Ghz)

Now if you're talking about
570 vs 840EE.... you'll need to OC the EE for decent gaming performance. If not it will perform the same as like a 540 for gaming. But for encoding or CPU intensive stuff the 840EE will BLOW away any other INTEL chip. (not AMD's thought)
