intel 2200BG and SP2

hey is anyone else having issues with SP2 and the 2200BG card

if i put my lappy into standby or hibernate
the card is unusable until i restart
listed as disabled....
if i try to enable it it does nothing

i did a quick reinstall of XP SP1 on an extra 5gb HD i had sitting around and the problem does NOT occur under SP1 or after any update

the beta RC2 of SP2 did not cause this problem
but gold (public) does cause the problem

using latest drivers from intel, or 1 gen back
firewall is OFF
 
I am running Windows XP SP2 with Intel 2200BG card using driver 8.0.12.20000 (current one from Intel, but not the newest one from my provider). I haven't experienced this in the week I've had SP2 installed. If worst comes to worst, why don't you try a quick reinstall of WinXP SP2 on the spare 5GB hard drive and see does it exhibit the same thing? If so then it's most likely driver conflicts, if not then it could be your configuration (ie. software and setting) This is the best help I can give. :(
 
no problems here with the 20000 drivers either (there isnt anything newer though)
 
Here's Dell's site on a newer driver for the 2200BG. Here's compaq site for drivers, the driver is the one dated Aug 15, 2004 but is approx 7 MB, the 25 MB is the Intel 8.1 Proset.
 
compaq's driver there is .9000, which is old.

the proset however, is new. strange stuff.
