After doing some googling and research I am trying to figure out if I overclock an i5-661 if it effects the performance of the integrated Intel HD chip. The most I figure is that they share the same bus speed so in essence shouldn't it "overclock" and yield better performance?

It might be a retarded question since no one cares about onboard graphics but still if the chip is over 4.5ghz that should be a fairly large increase correct?

The graphics core has a different clock. It's on a separate chip in the same package. Many motherboards have the ability to overclock the GPU speed. Anand has overclocked it to 1200MHz.

Not really a retarded question. You can OC it to some degree and it is just fine for an everyday pc. In my experience it will only take so much tho.

Just out of curiosity do you play Torchlight or any other Diablo 3 isk game on that setup? Wondering how it would fair with a small living room PC with a IGP at 1920x1200 (or even 2560x1920) at that clock rate.
