My file server is running two 80 gig drives striped in a RAID 0 array off the onboard HPT370 ATA RAID controller (the mobo is an EPoX 8K7A+). Just recently, the motherboard seems to have taken a turn for the worst, and rarely manages to boot at this point. My question is this... If I was to buy another 8K7A+ and throw the old CMOS into the new board, do you think it'd retain array configuration information? The last thing I could even dream of doing is losing the data on those drives by rebuilding the array on a new board. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Oh, and I now well know that I should've used an offboard RAID controller, so I don't need any slaps on the knuckles or any of that BS... I know I was in the wrong, I just need to get the data off the drives. Thanks in advance.
