Hey guys,

I am trying to set up my rig with good air flow and was wondering what ratio I need to have the case fans in.

I have two 120mm yates and 1 80mm fan pulling air into the case and right now only my PSU and 1 80mm fan pushing air out. I plan on getting another 80mm fan to push air out, but will this be enough?

You want to try and have either an equal amount of air going in as going out, or a little bit more coming in. This is assuming your intake fans have dust filters, and you dont want dust in your case. If you have more blowing out then in then air will be pulled in through any little nook in your case, and thus dust will bypass any intake filters you have.

Just look at the CFM for the fans and try to make sure your intake/outtake is even. If you have more intake you can undervolt your yates or something (then they will be REALLY silent).

search google or here regarding negative air pressure in a pc case.

sounds like you've got a little too much intake and not enough exhaust resulting in a positively pressured case.

conversely, a negatively pressured case (aka more exhaust fans) would be more able to suck air from the outside (theeoretically cooler air) and suck it in through intakes, cracks and all sorts of fun places.

Negative pressure has the ability to produce better temps... But attract more dust...
