Installing Zalman VGA Cooler, a Visual Guide

Nice guide but your AS5 method is way out heh. For cores like that use a razor to spread it out, stops air bubbles and keeps the amount of TIM to a minimum.

Well my temps just dropped after a couple of hours of system off, I'm at 38-39c idle instead of 41-42.

When I got the instructions from Artic Silver's website they said to rub it in with a plastic bag or the like so that all the small etches and grooves are filled in by the thermal paste. Had pretty good temps on my cpu, so I guess it worked pretty good for me.
So how do you apply AS5 with a razor blade? Always good to know more tricks :D

Razor blade is as it sounds. Just put some AS on the core then spread it newspaper thin with a razor blade.

As for the plastic bag well....its a bit errrr. On their site, they use to say to rub AS5 with a plastic bag onto the heatsink, not the CPU, to fill the little gaps then to wipe it off with something lint free. then to just razor blade the core with as5, but it doesnt really matter either way unless your pedantic like me lol. Your gettin awesome temps so it must not make all that much dif :p
