Installing Windows XP on a PCI IDE Controller Card

I just installed a PCI IDE controller card because I found out the one the motherboard died out and since I dont have the money to go out and buy another motherboard, I thought that using a IDE Controller Card would work.
Here's my problem, everytime I try to install Windows XP, I can get it the point where it copies the files to hard drive, but when the computer reboots to continue the installation it goes back to the initial setup screen instead of continuing with the installation. I have the BIOS setup up so that it boots SCSI then CD-Rom, then Floppy. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.

You could try copying all the windows install files over to the hard drive, then trying to install windows to the hard drive, from the hard drive.

Depending on the type of IDE card you might have to in the cards bios set the drive you want to boot off of. I know it's that way with my Promise Fasttrak 66 raid card.

Just a though :D

I figured out the problem. I had the jumper settings set incorrectly on the Hard Drive I was using. I feel like a total fool right now.

after it restarts the first time, put the cd rom last in the boot order? :p
I dont know what device the controller card would be (scsi doesn't sound right..)
