I am trying to install windows 7 onto my new rig (will be in the post my setup later once I get it all buttoned up) but when I try to start the installation, it asks me about a "Required CD/DVD driver" I have the driver disk, but it wont bring it up when I put it into the drive.

Has anyone had this problem? how do I get around it?

Thanks for the help.

I had this problem recently rebuilding my son's rig. After extensive research and trying many things, the one tip that did it was a bad disk. I used my install disk and it worked fine, just put in his key. It was weird cause his disk looks flawless, not a scratch on it. I actually was installing it from a usb key to be honest, but ripped it from his cd initially and that was the problem. I had installed probably four or five times from that disk or usb stick, and never a problem til the last time...

I was using the install disk, it kept giving me the driver error but would never recognize the disk for the CD drive drivers. Am currently making an installable USB and will try with that.

from the DVD, but am running into an issue here as well, when ever i try to put the bootsect.exe onto the USB stick, it claims that access is denied.

It could be that your DVD drive is plugged into a sata port that is in AHCI mode. Some dvd drives cant handle AHCI mode, also some MBs need you to preload the driver for the storage controller (marvel/intel.etc).

I just had this same problem - tried everything I could find via web suggestions, and finally downloaded a new Win7 image file from MS' digitalriver site and it went perfectly after that.
