Installing Win10 on NVMe cause issues?

Hi all

Built an AMD based system and am using a Corsair M300 NVMe for my OS. Since I upgraded I've been having a tonne of issues with things (mainly display related settings not saving at all). Could the NVMe install causes this? I've installed and reinstalled about 7 times. On my old SSD I never had this issue and I've used the same copy of Win10 to install on my kid's PC and it's fine.

NVMe with OS installed = problems on MSI B450-A Pro?

No idea. However, are you sure of the integrity of the install media?

Yup. Flashed the newest BIOS before I decided to install Windows.

However I learned that to install onto NVMe properly it wants to be the sole drive while installing, and for some reason prefers UEFI. I've installed it that way now and I'm hoping that it saves.

(very unhelpful answer ahead) Shouldn't be!

OEMs are shipping that setup in droves. Now of course general case versus something very specific to that BIOS or SSD could still be the issue.

I was trying to find the specs on a Corsair M300 but no luck on google-fu. In case something unusual popped up but ...

Either way I've done a ton of NVME builds and no problems at all. As for your second post - you are 100% correct. Never install windows with more than one drive connected - it will only lead to later heartache. Windows LOVES to put random files on any and all connected drives. Makes weird errors show up that are nigh impossible to fix.

Now that you have tried the one drive install, I'd bet your stability will be much better.
