OK this is driving me nuts!! I screwed up my motherboard on my old compaq 5006US. I bought another factory Compaq board exactly the same and installed it. Now when I connect the cdrom and reboot it says cdrom is disk 2 and the harddrive is disk 3. I have gone into the setup bios to try and get the computer to boot from the cdrom to install XP but in the boot sequence as just the hard drive and the floppy, no cdrom. So I used another computer to install Xp on harddrive and tried to boot it in the Compaq and it gives me a NTLDR is missing, what the hell is that? Do I need to install some drivers for the motherboard since it is new or change some settings, and if so how do I do this without being able to boot the computer?
Thanks for any help I am about to chunk this thing I just wanted to get it running for the kids.
