Installing apache on mandrake

Ok,Im VERY new to linux,around 24 hours now,lol. I installed mandrake last night, i clicked install HTTP/FTP option or w/e it was, it was apache i thought, Well i can not find apache any where, well i basicly Dont know where to find it, or how. But if it is not there, how would i install it? I tried the command lines and it does not work. It gives a error

What is your question? I know in debian we start and stop apache by typing apachectl [start | stop | status]. Check if you have a /var/www/, thats where you would put stuff. If it isn't there, check your /etc/apache/httpd.conf

It also possible that Mandrake started up apache for you after it was installed. Try pointing your browser at http://localhost/ and see if you get anything.

wait, is it possiable to be in windows and linux at same time? cuz i have both installed on my comp.

Running both at the same time? Not unless you are running a virutal machine inside either operating system.

If you are in windows and reading this, chances are you do not have linux running unless its a seperate machine. Boot into linux and then open a web browser and try http://localhost

Mandrake can help you set Apache up, too. Install the 'drakwizard' package if it's not already installed - you can do this from the GUI package installer which lives at start / System / Configuration / Packaging / Install Software , or from the terminal by doing 'urpmi drakwizard' as root. Now run the Mandrake control centre, select the 'Server Wizards' tab, and look for the Web Server option. Good luck!
