installing a pump?

Using nylon (or some other plastic) barbs would probably prevent crackin the housing. I have also heard that it's a good idea to silicone the housing seal where the O-ring sits right off the bat, because they often leak. My friend had one of these pumps and suffered both problems- he first used a brass barb and it leaked, then the O-ring leaked.

true - but a male brass npt going into plastic female threads makes that h311a easy to do. it usually doesn't even feel like you are exerting much pressure and then you hear CRACK!

in my experience with the danners, the plastic on the impeller housing is rather brittle. I'd stick with nylon fittings on that one unless you have some experience with using brass on plastic.
