Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My new computer uses sata 2 while my old one uses pata but my mobo is compatible but what im wondering is that could i install the old one on the new computer while retaining the files?
There are some files in there i cannot transfer.
A PATA interface HDD will not work w/ a SATA or SATAII only MoBo. But SATAII HDD is backwards compatable if it were to be put in a SATA MoBo like the Power Mac's.
Yes you should be able to intstall the old PATA HD in the new motherboard without a reformat. Just have the appropriate system drivers ready to install. There have been similar posts over the months in a couple of forums on this site, so run a search for detailed instructions.
