I'm a first-time builder, and I'm a little confused by the power supply installation. I have an evga geforce 6800 and I have a thermaltake TWV 480 power supply.
So the installation guide on the 6800 states that the video card needs one available 4-pin molex that is connected to nothing else in the system. Ok, so that's straightforward.
What gets me is that it also states that one 4-pin molex Y cable is included, and is needed to join the power supply and the power connectors of the PC's other components. I don't know what this is asking me to do. Is this like an extension outlet, basically there to just give me access to an additional molex on another cable?
The TWV comes with 9 connectors, so if the geforce needs a whole line, I still have 6 remaining. With the molex Y included, I would have 7 I think total.
Thanks in advance for the help.
