Installign Vista is slow...

Hey fellas for some reason it seems like Vista is loading install screens slowly, I popped my vista CD in my regular computer too see what it looked like and it was fast. Is this normal? I thought it was stuck a few times.

Also I wanted to do RAID 0 on this machine too, do I have to set that up first? Vista didnt let me do it and I didnt read how in my motherboard user manual (EVGA 680i SLI) I know there is nvidia RAID manager software once everything is installed however.
 
Fellas I have a EVGA 680i motherboard but in Vista it dosent let any of the drivers install it like already installed its own drivers and i dont know of anything is right since it didnt let the CD that came with my motherboard install anything!
 
Curious as to what brand of DVD you were using. I have installed it quite a few times, and noticed a slow down as well on older Liteon DVD burners. Thought it was my imagination until I had one system that was the same as the others minus a Pioneer DVD reader.
This is only during the loading bar on the bottom going from left to right, as well as the extracting CD contents.

BTW, make sure you install the drivers off of nvida.com and not the ones off of the CD.
 
Im using a GE Lightscsribe DVD player/burner. Another question. Vista only sees 1 of the 3 Hard drives I have installed!
 
Vista will not recognize the drives until they have been formatted. The BIOS will show them as installed, but the system will not
 
I hadnt turned on RAID in the BIOS... so I did that and it made me reinstall windows, the RAID in BIOS said that all the drives were 1 bootable stripped drive, but now as windows is loading its still only seeing one of the drives...
 
First, how much memory do you have? If you have 4 GB, pull 2 GB and start the install, if you do need to reinstall. I'd do without RAID0 for now, until you at least learn and get familiar with Vista a bit, but that's just my opinion. I'm not a big fan of RAID0. As for the drives, answer the questions you were given so we can continue. Are they showing up in the BIOS? If so, are they just not showing up in Vista? Since you turned on RAID functionality, did you configure an array before loading Vista?

...does the "one drive" that it's seeing show the usable space of all three drives combined (as it should with a RAID 0 setup) or is it just the size of one of the drives alone?
 
My two 500GB RAID0 drives show up as a single 1TB drive in BIOS. Which of course Vista sees as a single 931GB drive.
