Took me a while to find out how to get my WD160GB SATA HDD to come up with my ABIT AV8 3rd-eye motherboard as the manual did not tell me that I needed to jumper it to 150mbps and would only show up if I disabled SATA RAID ROM in BIOS.
Anyway I installed windows on to my HDD without the SATA controller and when playing games performance seems to be poor compared to my WD80GB IDE which is at 100mbps
Should I have installed the SATA controller and would this be the cause of the performance decrease?
