installed shogun 2 and now...

i bought shogun 2 limited edition from newegg

installed it on saturday and upgraded catalyst and got this

its now constantly flickering, even in other games

i tried uninstalling catalyst and newer drivers and using older versions of catalyst but no change

i dont think my computer is overheating as i didnt have problems before while gaming only after installing shogun and the upgrades it needed via steam and catalyst

any ideas?

i run a ATI 5850 if that helps
 
Looks like memory corruption or GSOD. Try lowering your memory speed to see if it alleviates the artifacts.
 
I think it was just a coincidence and didn't really have much to do with shogun at all. Try underclocking your card's memory as suggested also the gpu, check temps using msi afterburner or some program and if high set a custom fan profile.
 
my video cards temps were around 45C idle and around 60 when playing shogun 2

i think lord exodia is right and i am going to RMA soon. thank you for all your help

my motherboard does not have onboard video and i dont think think gigabyte does cross ships for RMA, so any cheap video card solutions for my computer in the meantime?
