Installed Edonkey2000, and things went crazy

I just installed Edonkey2000, and my computer went nuts. I got the install from the official edonkey site, went throught the motions, then when the install was finishing AVG went berserk, citing multiple instances of trojans. So I delete one, then it says I can't delete the rest of them, so I go online to see if anyone else has had something like this happen. Only my internet does nothing. So I restart and still nothing. Then I go to a restore point, and Bam, my internet works again. Wtf happened?

I suggest you move to eMule - it is open source and free of adware, spyware, and trojan.

I would, but for whatever reason I always got horrible download speeds on emule, whereas on edonkey my speeds were usually quite alright,
