Okay I have the 4830 and a new Gigabyte 770 mobo.

It installs fine up to the point where about 95% of it is firmly lodged in the slot. But there are about 5 teeth visible. Tilting it and otherwise trying has not been successful. It isn't the case mounting "L" because that has some wiggle room. It also won't go in if the little blue latch is specifically held out of the way.

I also don't think it's anything under the slot like the heatsink... I've installed with the mobo parallel to the ground, anyway.

Everything seems to work except for video. The fan goes, the monitor doesn't say "No Signal" like it does with absolutely no VGA connection.

Tried that, the main problem seems to be something else, on the other side. It still fits in my questionable other mobo. Thanks though.

Hmm, from the description it seems that there may be something in the slot.

I dont think they made an agp version...is there a manufacturing defect on the board?

Okay I think it's the case or something, on its own (mobo on table unconnected) it will go in pretty well.

Maybe the "tooth" or whatever slides past the motherboard is bent? Brand new Storm Scout from Micro, the video card might've seen hell though (original PC had banged-up HDD, has been in a car since in box/foam with better fastening).

So card + mobo = win, trying to put in case = fail.

Actually the whole motherboard is too "low" i.e. it screws in fine but the external ports line up but about 5 mm towards the floor, chip facing up. Losing one or two screws doesn't help, it's just that way.

I ordered a slimmer (fan at least) 8600 GT, we'll see otherwise I'm fed up again and might just buy a local pre-built Wolfdale, replace rather than rebuild.

The Scout is nice, I hope it works with something.

What do those testers use that's just a motherboard, PSU, and power switch? lol Not the Skeleton, just the pure openness.
