I'm in the process of installing an Arctic Cooling Accelero S2 Plus cooler and have a question regarding the "thermal glue" for the vram and voltage regulators. The directions say the "glue" has a 5 hour cure time, does this mean I cannot use the card until its fully cured?

That means that the thermal compound takes 5 hours of use to cure (meaning it's settled in and working at its best), so you have to use it to cure it :p
 
It also says to apply this thermal glue generously to the voltage regulators, so its ok if this glue is covering some of the stuff on the board around the voltage regulators? And Also it kinda show that u just slap some thermal glue around these voltage regulators without the heatsinks, I have a couple extra heat sinks, should I put them onto the voltage regulators and any other chips on the board?

Also during this 5 hour cure time should I stress this card out to heat it up to allow for better cooling? Like run benchmarks, game etc? Or do I just power on the pc and let it idle for 5 hours?

Sorry for all the questions, Ive never used aftermarket cooling on a gpu or chipset so I am not familiar with these little heat sinks.

I got the cooler installed, however I;m having a weird problem with the fan.

The fan has a plug that goes into the videocard board, with a pigtail to attach to a power splitter that came with the cooler with 2 seperate leads, one says 6v and the other says 12v.

I have the 12v connector attached from the videocard to a standard power lead from the power supply. The problem is that even with the fan in manual (manual settings in afterburner & overdrive) the rpm's of the fan bounce all over from 1100rpm up to 3600rpm.

I've tried using the 6v lead and having the fan plugged into only the videocard fan connection with the same results.

Anyone know whats going on or what else I can try
