I'm having some trouble with the BIOS settings for my new Ultra-D. My inital installation and setup of the board was flawless. Hooked everything and it powered on, installed windows, and booted great just fine. Now I want to play around with some overclocking. I've used clockgen and some other utilities to take my Wincester 3500+ up to 2.5 at 227x11. At the speed it runs SuperPI to 32M digits fine, runs Prime95 for an hour, and generally seems stable. However if I reboot and try to set the exact same setting in my BIOS it will not boot to windows. The thing is it seems like if I try and change my BIOS settings AT ALL it will not boot to windows. If I use stock settings for everything and try setting vDimm to 2.9V, it won't boot. Try setting chipset voltage to 1.6, won't boot. The only thing that I can change is setting my memory timings to their correct latencies.
It's possible that my proc is no a good overclocker or what have you, but at stock speeds I see no reason why this board should not boot to windows because of simple increases in vDimm or chipset voltage. Again, if I adjust these values from within Windows it works fine and seems very stable, but not within the BIOS.
