Instability with 6800 Ultra Question

So here's the issue, recently I purchased a used 6800 Ultra as the last AGP vid card I intend to get. Well it came yesterday and to be sure it got enough juice I went out and got a Neopower 480 power supply. I get everything installed, and everything is working great, I play about an hour of FarCry, then about 2 hours of San Andreas after which I go watch some TV. When I come back I answered some PM's and suddenly the system froze and now it wont boot up past the windows logo. If I slap my 9800XT back in, it boots just fine. I tried reinstalling windows and I get a bunch of unable to copy file errors. Sorry for the long post is the NeoPower not enough for an Ultra? Or since it worked fine for about 3 hours of continuos gameplay could my problem be something unrelated like a failing hard drive? Any insight or conjectures would be greatly appreciated.
 
Did you use driver cleaner between:

Your removal of your 9800 XT and the setup of your 6800 Ultra

and

Your removal of your 6800 Ultra and the setup of your 9800 XT?
