Hello all.

I recently purchased an Inspiron 6000 with the Celeron 1.5Ghz processor. I wanted to get something as cheap as humanly possible and succeeded. The laptop came with 256MB PC3200 DDR2 ram, which can't be ran at PC4200 (133mhz) speeds. I bought another 256MB PC4200 so-dimm on eBay so I could try my luck at overclocking this beast.

I did the pin trick http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=80879 and applied arctic silver while I had the heatsink and everything off. Booted up like a champ at 2.0Ghz. Idle temps are 38C, full load is 55C. Stock voltage.

Prime 95 stress testing has been successful so far.

Total after a $750 off coupon, a $50 Coupon sent with my last Dell bill, and the 2% DPS coupon was $798. After that, I cancelled the extended warranty I had originally ordered, and they credited my account $612. Total after tax and shipping: approx. $187 :D

They let you keep the $750 off even after you took $612 in warranties? You luck bastard :)
Good luck with the easy OC, Im looking at getting either a 6000 or 600m sometime this year, but I want to do some lgiht gaming above 800x600, so the Celeron configurations are out for me.

Once again, nice $187 lappy :D
