Inside the 345 - We have been showing you the Koolance CPU-345 water block in all of our Core i7 articles lately and more than a few of you have asked to see inside the block. Here is the Koolance 345 opened up.

This block which will hopefully be out in December represents Koolance’s “general purpose” block. It is built for high flow, lower pressure systems. The 345 will be available with both acetal and acrylic tops. The base is nickel-plated copper. Koolance has also announced a model 350 water block which will be it high end model and from what we understand is a totally different build from the 345.

Hey kyle, I was wondering about your guys exos units. have you by chance had any issues with them in terms of the leds flickering and or dying?

We just retired our age old Exos (1) units. And I never had problems with any of those that was not my own doing. These Exos 2 units we are using are brand new and I have not had any issues with them in the last couple of weeks. We went with some of the smaller "middle of the road" units as well because of the smaller size and being a bit quieter than some of the perf models.

ok thanks for your input.

I've got 2 of the Exos 2 units and they both have the flickering issue. first unit I got the leds behind "ance" started flickering then dying out all together. the leds behind "kool" also flicker but haven't died either.

the second unit I have the leds under the res are flickering but haven't died out yet I don't think.

I emailed them a while back when I started having the issue with the first unit (about 4 years back) and they never go back to me about it at all. considering they never got back to me about the first unit I figured I wouldn't waste my time emailing them about the second unit.

Hey!

Well depending on the date of purchase the second may still be under warranty. All of our products are covered by a one year, full coverage warranty. Otherwise the display board for Exos 2 units is available here.

Hey Dean. thanks for chiming in. both units are out of warranty actually. mostly I have to say I was just disappointed that I never got a response to my email some years back. as then I was looking to buy the parts if that was indeed the problem. do you guys know for sure if that's the issue? Because, as I said the LEDS in my res are flickering on my newer Exos2

I found a thread in your forums of a few other people having a similar issue found Here

Actually, the Koolance 350 might be an interesting nut for LGA 1366. Early December for the release? Wouldn't mind seeing how this stacks up against a Supreme or D-Tek block.

Kyle you said you replaced them a couple weeks ago, does that mean you are using Exos 2-LX's or the regular Exos-2? There is a really sizeable difference in pumping power between the two.
