The location I'm at now seems pretty iffy with small power outages. I guess it's because it's getting warmer out. I imagine it'll be worse once people start cranking their ACs.

Anyways, I was googling around and came across this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842107108

Do you think this is reasonable for protection against power surges as well as maintain uptime during 1-5 second power outages? I plan to hook up 1x computer, 1x 22" CRT, 1x 19" LCD, a cable modem, and phone. Possibly even my trusty clock, since it appears to have 6 outlets.

I figured a more expensive model is useless for my needs. If the power goes out for a few seconds it should in theory protect me. If the power goes out for an extended amount of time... oh well, it stinks but it happens.

Edit:
If you can recommend a better model, feel free to link it. I'm looking for something in the $40-60 price range. The NewEgg reviews on this one don't look too hot but I made a firm promise to myself that I would never go by user reviews from standard computer users. I once listened to a lady argue that her entire computer was broken because someone switched her left/right mouse button functions.

as long as your system does not draw more than 225W then you should be fine otherwise it would just shut off with overload protection, I have a APC XS 1000 and it keeps my system runnig up to 10min

We had a huge blackout a few years ago and I was able to power a clock radio and a light overnight without problems as well they are handy.
