Input noise

Hey. i bought a new monitor about a month ago and have my xbox360 and direct tv box hooked up to it. i've yet to buy a set of speakers(thinking of getting the z5500, but waiting for the price to drop) but as of now i have R/W rca to 3.5mm jack plugged into my laptop input. and just recently i've been getting noise from the inputs. cud anyone tell me what it is? or how to fix it?

Sounds like possibly a ground loop, this happens a lot with laptops that are running just on batteries I suggest you try plugging it into the wall while it's connected to your xbox. If it is, then there's probably something touching that isn't supposed to be touching inside the laptop.

yea. i do have it plugged into the wall. just a side note. i usually plug into the input. but 2day i plugged into the microphone jack and it sounded great. no static. but then 5 mins later static was horribly worse. so now im back to the input which isnt noticable unless theres a silent moment.
