Input / Microphone Problem on Audigy 2 ZS

I am having problems switching between using the Input line and the microphone line on my Audigy 2 ZS. I have the input line setup for my TV Tuner card, and then I have a microphone setup on my comp as well. I use ventrilo quite often to talk with friends / gamers. Anyhow, my problem is that after using the input line for the TV card, my microphone no longer works properly unless I go throught he sound card settings and test hardware for a microphone. It seems that the input line overrides the microphone and doesn't the microphone to function. Also, if I watch TV on my comp with the TV Tuner while on vent, the sound from the tv is broadcasted through vent (not because of speakers -> microphone either, I am wearing headphones.) This is my main problem, anyone have any ideas?

My other problem is that if I'm running vent and playing CS, I can't use ingame team speak and ventrilo at the same time, the in game speak becomes very choppy. (This is not a significant problem, but I have noticed that most other people have the luxury of being able to speak in ventrilo and in game at the sametime.

Thanks for any help or suggestions to my two problems.

When you use your TV tuner, it switches the record source to line-in or an analog mix. This happens because if it didn't, you wouldn't hear any sound from your TV tuner. It does not, however, switch the record source back to mic when you close it, so your microphone will not be the selected record source. Instead of going through the hardware test, open up the creative surround mixer and select microphone as your record source. This can get really annoying really fast, but it is the only way if you want to exclusively use the Audigy 2 ZS, or any single sound card. What I suggest is that you use another sound card or onboard sound for your microphone or for your TV tuner --> line in cable.

Everyone with Audigy cards has the same CS ingame/Vent problem. There's no solution of which I know.

Yeah, I've talked to other audigy users, was just seeing if anyone had a solution yet.

Thanks though.

I have somewhat of the same problem. I have my mic connected to the front panel (line-in 2/mic 2) in my platinum. To get my mic to work in vent/cs I have to go into surround mixer and change "rec" to Line-In 2/Mic 2 which randomly changes back to 'Microphone" on its own all the time. Gets very annoying when people cant hear me all of a sudden because it decided to change back to microphone input on its own. Any way to set the "rec" section to Line-In 2 to deafault? any help much appreciated. thanks
