Input lag? 2007WFP

A quick question, do any of you 2007WFP owners experience input lag when playing games? I tried loading up HL2 Ep 2, and noticed the slighest delay between me moving the mouse and a response being shown on the screen. Or could it be due to the fact that I was getting a low framerate (25-30fps, running at native res)?

that is most likely due to having v-sync on, it is a limitation of the refresh rate on LCDs which is only 60hz.

Thanks for the reply,

I was pretty sure I was playing with vsync off, because I noticed quite a bit of graphics tearing in some areas, but I didn't confirm that...I'll double check later today.

sigh

refresh rate means nothing for lcd's
v sync means nothing for lcd's

Have anything useful to contribute or are you just looking to up your post count?

LCDs don't cure tearing. Just turn on vertical sync and nothing will exhibit tearing. LCD screens certainly can display tearing, quite badly, thanks to the 60Hz input signal that's all that many of them can handle. They don't flicker, but they're only being sent 60 full frames per second; that's the maximum frame rate you can possibly get with vsync on.

I certainly notice tearing while playing that game, but that isn't even the reason I created this thread.

I play through with the tearing because if I turn on v-sync I get molasses mouse syndrome on my 2005FPW. However there is no input lag whatsoever on desktop. I'm using a Radeon 9800 card btw.

Thanks for your reply, larken.

You are using the same video card as me, so that is promising. Perhaps I'll try some other game besides HL2 Ep 1 and see if I experience this. Maybe turning down the eye candy in HL2 to get a better framerate will help as well.
