Inline Remotes for iPod?

So it looks like my Apple inline remote for my iPod is wearing out, it's weak where the cable meets the connector, and I just got the damn thing in September. I might try to actually fix it, but in case that doesn't work (read: I break it more), does anyone have any suggestions for a different inline remote? I've enjoyed the Apple remote, and I have googled the subject, I was just wondering about the experiences of others. Thanks.
 
well as far as I know you can only use the Apple remote on the ipods but to be honest I haven't gone looking for others...now if you just got it in September (etiher the ipod or the remote if purchased seperately) it will be under warranty so if you have an Apple Retail Store near you take it there and see if they will replace it...if it was a seperate purchase have your receipt ready...also check out Apple Care for that (student price $47 IIRC) as it will give another year support as well as cover the battery and accessories that came with it

 
I used to use the EngineeredAudio.com remoteremote.
RF remote, wireless, in line.

Griffin is releasing a version as well.

Does this wireless remote work when the iPod is in a pocket or bag? Obviously, this bag would be close to the body.

Indeed, it uses RF so it goes through most stuff.

They say it has a 30ft range, though i've never really tested it.

what do people think about the engineered audio remoteremote 2 vs the griffin airclick?? after seeing this thread, i've been looking at them both. both get good reviews, both with different pros and cons. i can get the griffin for under £30 delivered and the remoteremote for £40 + del. what are your opinions???
