What do u guys think, should I get a laser (color) printer or an Inkjet printer?
 
Well, there are lots of factors consider.

The initial cost of the printer, ink supply prices, paper supply prices (inkjet prints look better with inkjet paper), quality of prints, number of color print jobs, speed of printing, etc.
 
The new breed of inkjet printers from HP, Officejet 8600, is supposed to get very close to laser printer yields with the regular HP cartridges, I bought one and so far so good, lots of nice features, double sided printing, idevice printing, etc. I would suggest you check one out.
 
get a BW laser and get walmart to print photos. color lasers kind of suck and the ink jet colors fade to where pictures look off after a couple of years..
 
We use Xerox Phaser/ColorQube at work. They are solid ink laser printers. They print very nice quality, but we have had reliability issues over the years. I would suggest getting the 3 year extended warranty for $300 as it would cost $300 for a single out of warranty service call and that's just for them to show up, not parts and labor.
 
depending on the quantity of printing you'll do, if you'll have plenty of color printing then I would go for laser otherwise inkjet.
 
After years of going through ink-jet printers I finally bought a quality color laser (Brother HL-4570CDW) on a great sale and I couldn't be happier. Photos are not as good as inkjets but they are not bad at all and the colors dont run. Ink doesn't dry out, its silent until I need it to run, I can print from anywere in the house. I'm pretty darn happy with the thing. Initial expense was the only down side but I got for $120 less than its running right now on Newegg.
 
When choosing a printer you have to ask yourself what are your priorities?

Inkjets will give better photos than lasers (though afiact dyesub are by far the best for home photo printing) but lasers give you water-resistant prints (inkjet inks even the solvent based ones tend to run badly if they get wet) and aren't so prone to clogging if left unused for a while.
 
If you don't print often, go with a laser.
 
No, if you don't print often, print pictures at wal-mart. Otherwise B&W.

Inkjets can clog though if you don't print often. That said, I haven't had any clogging problems with my Canon Pixma IP4000 for 6 years. I'm using cheapo generic ink too.
 
Laser is better in the long run(with black ink only), INK is supposedly better at colors than laser, it really depends. Laser colored cartridges cost a lot.
