Friend of mine has a 3.06 under a Zalman cpns-7000cu and he hits about 3.7 or so with it. With the stock intel heatsink he was able to hit about 3.5 before temps went through the roof. He decided to overclock it when my 2.4c ended up being faster than his Ahh competition
I have quite an extensive watercooling set up, 2x120 radiator, and a swiftech waterblock with potted 226 w tec, and a meanwell to power the tec. i was just wondering what sort of ocing i could expect.
I was able to get 3.46 on mine with stock voltage settings and cooling. It runs pretty good and being a 533MHz part it leaves you with some overclocking headroom on an 800MHz FSB board.
However it is true that a 800MHz part is faster at the same speeds as it has more bandwidth on the system bus to work with.
