Infamous: Second Son

Been playing about 4 hours. My ONLY complaint. The main protagonist Delsin. A very annoying character. His wisecracks and idiotic wit along with his stupid voice irritate the hell out of me. I swear he looks and sounds like freakin Pauly Shore with a haircut. I wish he would just shut the fuck up and not speak! I give the game a 9/10.

Still playing this and it's pretty awesome, neon powers is where it's at.

I'm up to probably 8hrs of gameplay. Just got to a new portion of the map. Things do start to get a little repetitive but neon is still a lot of fun. Especially after you get all the upgrades. I usually speed around, throw the bubble grenades and shoot people. I occasionally get overwhelmed, but by then my bomb thingy is usually activated and with that I can clear everything around me. I like the balance of difficulty a lot though. If I'm not careful I die quite fast.

I actually don't mind the main character. I've been playing the blue/good side though. Maybe he's more of a douche on the red/evil side?

Other than that I don't regret buying the game. I don't see a bunch of replay ability with this game, but there aren't a lot of options on the ps4 right now until late spring/early summer.

I would probably rate the game an 8.5/10. The fluidity of movement and particle effects are very very good. Combat is fun. The only downsides I see with it are the lack of variety in side missions, and the black and white of the good/bad system seems a little lacking. I wish I could just be good or bad depending on my mood and it not impact unlocks/etc. Hopefully the story holds up until the end. So far it's pretty good.

I'm really enjoying this game. I loved infamous 1 (Infamous 2 was so-so for me). For some reason I find infamous games one of the only ones where I don't mind going out of my way to find blast shards (or items in other games) and actually wanting to get 100% in. It's strange... something about this game, probably the awesome super powers you get to use. I love the double air dash to get across buildings from far away! lol.

Also, by far the nicest looking game on either system right now! Bar none. I don't think anything compares to it at all right now. I mean Killzone is probably a close second.

He's voiced by Troy Baker, who did Booker Dewitt from Bioshock and Joel from the last of us, plus many other games

I beat the game and did all the side missions and freed all the zones. Just started up a new game to play through as a "bad" guy. This game is fuckn great! My only complaint is that you only get the asphalt power at the end of the game and you don't really get to use it. I'll admit at the beginning I didn't really like it but it was because I was playing the game wrong. I was heading straight into battle Leeroy Jenkins style trying to melee and blast away. Once I used a bit more tactical approach and used my powers properly the game was much more fun.

Playing the game wrong? In what way is approaching battles from one way or another the "wrong" way?

Imagine playing Mario and jumping into the abyss over and over always dying or playing Titanfall and never using a Titan.

That's the point he was trying to get across. You won't live and will keep dying.

The key to beating a game is to approach it without dying. GOT IT!

You can approach a situation however you want, so their is no "wrong" way

Eh? I think it's entirely viable that in a super hero game with skills that you can develop and shape the character that you SHOULD be able to play "Differently" if you so wish, melee focus vs range focus, etc.

I have found as a melee focused build It's best to go with the corrorsive fumes/stasis bubble powers, allows you to take on larger groups without trouble and get good karma.

I understand the point you're making, it's a game do what you want. But if you habitually do something over and over without success it's probably time to think you're DOING something wrong. Maybe that should have been his comment as opposed to playing it wrong.

People get so defensive these days. His point was obvious, people and their feelings I guess.

No, the point was NOT that he was not succeeding with his approach. In fact he not once said he was not able to complete an area do to his approach, but it was not enjoyable for him not that it did not work. In fact a succeeding comment from Stiler said he used the approach from the initial comment and is succeeding just fine, which 100% supports the fact that there is not a "wrong" way to play a game. Dear lord do people need to pay attention

The consensus seems to be that this is a pretty fun game. Not a fantastic system seller but still decent. I'm finishing up Ryse and Thief then I'll start this.

It really is a fun experience. I never finished the first or second Infamous games but this one kept me playing for the duration.

The main story seems rather short but there's a number of side missions to complete. Finished with Good Karma and I plan to go back through the game with Evil Karma on expert difficulty soon.

Make sure you sign up at http://infamouspapertrail.com/ and link your PSN. It gives you some Karma for completing simple tasks as well as other things.

Put it this way. If you own a PS4, your gonna play the game. And trust me when I say, you're gonna like it, A LOT !!!

How do you use 'you're' wrong in one instance, and then right in the same sentence?!?! ;)

New update: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/04/01/incoming-infamous-second-son-ps4-update-add-new-features/

Change time-of-day: Once you beat the game, a new entry will appear on the options menu to allow you to select the time of day! A very popular request indeed, and one we’re excited to enable for you all.

HUD on/off: Especially for those amazingly talented screenshot taking folks, we’re including an option to let you turn the HUD on and off.

Cap at 30FPS: Internally we prefer the unlocked frame rate, but we recognise that a group of players find the unlocked frame rate very distressing. So we’ll provide a way to ensure the game is not bumping up over 30FPS if that’s how you prefer to play.

Additionally, our coders and QA team are of course working to try and identify and resolve key bugs, and we’ll look at incorporating important fixes in the patch too. And who knows, if we’re inspired enough we may sneak a few other little things in too. Time will tell!

We’re all working hard to release these updates as soon as we can. Time wise, the earliest we could have the patch and new features ready is in about two weeks from now, so stay tuned for another update and we’ll let you all know as soon as they’re ready to go live. Until then, keep fighting the DUP, keep sharing your awesome screenshots (#PS4share on Twitter), and Enjoy Your Powers!

Wow, peasants

What? It's an optionable thing you can turn on/off.

Do you understand when a frame rate jumps from high to low it creates a "stutter" like effect where the game seems to move fast then slower, it's annoying to many people.

I'd rather have rock-solid 30fps then having 45 fps<30fps back and fourth.

During my playthrough, I did notice a slight stutter but it wasn't an ongoing thing. Though, it only happened a handful of times, it certainly wasn't something that detracted from the gameplay that much and only lasted a brief second or two.

The availability of this option is pretty cool though.

I'm looking forward to being able to turn the HUD off and setting the time of day for some glamor shots as this is a beautiful game.

Started playing this yesterday. It is VERY good! I'm impressed. The powers and the city kind of gives it a Crackdown/Saints Row 4 feel. The combat is kind of boring, though when there are a lot of enemies.

I enjoyed the game but I'm really annoyed that they don't include actual side missions like they did in Infamous 1 & 2.
The side missions are basically find this object or destroy this object and it gets old; where are the side objectives?

I actually like small side activities more than full side missions. They give you a break from the story to just be in the world.

Seen some copies of this at work has a cool Silver design for the box art I'm sure it's a cool game might pick it up for 30.00 on ebay or something.

Infamous was a VERY easy Platinum trophy. I enjoyed playing it quite a bit too.

I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game, though I have to wait for my b-day to roll around (July).

inFamous 1, 2 & the Festival of Blood all were a blast to play. After watching the official gameplay video, I'm confident I'll enjoy it from beginning to end.

I was on the fence about this game, I've never played Infamous, but I am a Trophy whore ... and if I enjoy the game at the same time ... I think I'll give it a try

I just platinumed it last night. I beat it months ago but came back to it to beat it on Expert with Good Karma.

It's the only platinum I have and to put it in context I only have 4 gold trophies 2 of which are Infamous. It's the easiest one that I know of across all 3 Sony platforms.

It's a really good game looking back on it, if SP makes another Infamous they have a very solid base to work off of that's for sure.

Did the UAVs fuck up for anyone else or are the majority of them supposed to not be flying and just sit there?

I just assumed they were... Hidden. They weren't all flying, most were just sitting in odd paces.

Just checking because it didn't make a hell of a lot of sense IMO.

Overall I think they should make an Infamous 3 and build on what Second Son was. Add in more variety in missions, new abilities, etc.

Having Seiki (white rabbit) play the antagonist would be doable I think. Possibly follow in the same footsteps as the paper trail as a side mission (via phone app maybe?).

Never the less I look forward to First Light.

TLoU: Remastered this month, First Light in August with Diablo III UEE, Destiny, Assasins Creed, etc. should be fun times.
